Wonderful Wednesday Número 16 Of 2018

Hello hello and happy wonderful Wednesday.

I'm writing this on a Tuesday evening after one of those hectic, kinda disorganised, kinda flappy days. The heavens are due to open in an absolute mammoth way tonight and so I'm umming and arring over lighting the fire. I'm feeling a spot deflated and rather overwhelmed by life at the moment. Hopefully this mid-week list of gratitude will pop a smile on my face. There's nothing quite like thinking about the loveliness of the week so far to lift the spirits and pop a smile on your face.

Before we begin, I must ask you to grab a cup of something wonderful, tea or hot chocolate would be ideal. Make sure you're sitting comfortable and take the deepest breath you've taken all day. Are you ready? Let's begin.

The muse.

Recently, I'm struggling when it comes to being creative, inspiration seems to hit me in the early hours of the morning, yet it is gobbled up by sleep monsters and the like, by the time I awake from my dreams. I'd say I've kind of lost my mojo, maybe I left it in England during the Easter holidays? When this happens, I often find throwing myself into physical tasks like cleaning, doing the washing, running errands and losing myself in another world - mustered up between pages of a good read works wonders. I found The Muse an interesting book that captured my attention. Jessie Burton's words flow off the page effortlessly, no force is required by my mind for my imagination to conjure up the story. The pieces of the puzzle slowly come together. Have you read The Muse? What did you think?

Albert Cat.

If you follow me on social media, you will most likely have heard about Albert's return to the outdoors; he is now allowed outside for a few hours at a time. Just seeing him sunbathing on the table on the patio, and then running in when I call him fills my heart with ever so much joy. You can read Albert Cat's Story here.

Raspberry & Rooibos Tea & Rice Cakes

It's a tea by Hornimans and it really is hitting the spot at the moment, a mug of steaming raspberry yumminess accompanied by a rice cake, given to me by a friend at work, really got me through the second half of the day today. There's something ever so lovely about a snack you weren't expecting isn't there?

Your Help

One of the things causing me to lose my mojo a little, is what I'd like to do with this blog. I have so many ideas, so many plans, so many THINGS I want to do, that the so many-ness off it all is rather overwhelming and I just don't know where to start! This blog is a place I share my free from recipes, mid-week happiness lists and life updates. This along with my Instagram is where I have poured my creative heart and soul for the past few years. I'd like to take it that step further, and if you're reading this, the likelihood is that you know me rather well by now. So, rather than asking you as a reader, I'd like to ask you as my friend. What do I doooo?

Do you find the recipes useful, interesting, yummy? Would you like to see recommendations on free from foods and interviews with free from small businesses or would you prefer more of a make it yourself approach on the free from food side? Would you like more days out guides for Cornwall and Barcelona - this is usually where you can find me.

Would you enjoy seeing a weekly video of the good bits to accompany my mid week round up? Would you like more cat stories? I have always tried to do my own thing, not wanting to follow the masses and that's something that is really important to me. As my friend, and someone who knows what I do here, do you have any suggestions of how I could take it that step further? Sometimes when you're on the inside, it's difficult to take a step back and see the potential something has. In all honesty, if I could be a Professional Cat Lady I totally would....

Sister's Birthday Cake

Whilst not technically this week, at the weekend it was my sister's birthday and I made her this rainbow birthday cake. It was so, unbelievably Pe-ta unfriendly, so I couldn't try even just a bite, but she loved it. When she cut into a slice, the smarties spilled out and I was over the moon that it had worked! Next time I'd like to make a Pe-ta friendly one... eeeep!!

The Spring Smells

Washing drying on the line; clothes softener drifting through the air, wild flowers swaying in hedges their petals fluttering here and there. The smell of damp grass in the morning, whilst the birds sing their songs for the day. If we could just bottle it up, we'd make a years pay. Definitely wasn't intending upon a little poem there!

Summer Tunes

I've been listening to a playlist called Mr.Revillz on spotify and it's making me feel all the summer feels!

That's all of the wonderful I've got for today my loves, please do glide over to the other WW-ers to read their mid-week gratitude lists. You can find them here: SallyJoHelenMichelleSarahKateCatSamElLaura
