Like many I am a lover of bread and crackers. I absolutely adore the taste and texture however yeast just does not agree with me and neither do dairy products. I love making bread and crackers and have tried many recipes, I adore coming up with my own and put together this very simple vegan sesame seed crackers. These yeast free cracker breads are the perfect snack and taste incredible teamed with this yummy plant based dip.
Healthy crackers can be tough to find in the shop but these have just 6 ingredients and are so simple to make. Quick, simple and easy snacks are what make the world go round... especially on a weeknight when you desperately need to put SOMETHING healthy together to enjoy whilst on the go.
Sesame Seed Cracker Ingredients:
- 1 Cup of spelt flour (most flours will work)
- 3 tbsp of flax seeds
- 3 tbsp of sesame seeds
- 3 tbsp of olive oil
- 1 tbsp of tahini
- 1/2 cup of water
- Pinch of salt and pepper to season
Pre-heat the over to 180 degrees Celsius. Pop all of your ingredients in a bowl and mix until a dough forms, knead for a few minutes. Grease a flat baking tray with a drop of olive oil and flatten out the dough on the tray. Make sure it's nice and thin, reaching the corners of the tray. Bake for about 20 mins or until slightly brown.
Take out of the over and leave for 5 mins, cut into bite size crackers and place on a cooling rack.
Simple Spicy Hummus Ingredients:
- Tin of white cannellini beans
- 3 tbsp Olive oil
- 1 tsp of spicy paprika
- 1 lemon
- Salt and pepper to season
Pop the beans into a food processor, add the olive oil, paprika, salt and pepper and lemon juice. Whizz up until smooth and place in a container in the fridge for half an hour.
I love dipping these simple crackers into the spicy, tangy hummus dip. This is a great healthy party snack which is vegan friendly and super healthy!
