Apple and ginger is one of my favourite combinations, I topped this smoothie with chopped strawberries - a fantastic source of vitamin C along with chia seeds which are incredible power houses. A spoon of chia seeds has more calcium than a glass of milk, they are also jam packed with antioxidants, fiber, magnesium, zinc AND iron. I love the crunch sesame seeds add, these tiny little gold seeds of joy are also amazing for you. Boasting properties such as calcium, magnesium, iron, phosphorus, Vitamin B1, zinc as well as many more and most importantly report high levels of copper and manganese.
I popped a cup full of oats into the blender, added a cup of rice milk, a chopped apple, teaspoon of ginger, tablespoon of honey and blended up. I poured this yummy mixture into a bowl and topped with strawberries, sesame seeds, chia seeds and ground coconut. YUM!
