Wonderful Wednesday 34 of 2018

Happy happy happy wonderful Wednesday, goodness me it's lovely to be tip tapping away at my boyfriend's kitchen table back in Cornwall for this week's happy list. How the devil are we all? I'm feeling very content, full of tea and well rested. It feels like I have been here for much longer than just under a week and I'm here until Sunday so that's very exciting. I'm taking things a little slower this time and making sure I have plenty of time just for me. Shall we get on with the wonderful?!

Good Housekeeping.
Fraser's mum has given me all of her Good Housekeeping magazines from the past year to have a nosey over - she knows I love the recipe inspiration and it's been lovely to spend the morning pouring over those with cups of steaming tea.

Blackberry Picking.
This morning I popped on my big coat (it really is rather chilly here for me!) and listened to podcasts as I wandered along the lane to pick blackberries. I wanted to make my yummy Apple & Blackberry Pie as The Great British Bakeoff starts tonight - eeeee! (I'm writing this on Tuesday afternoon.) Can you really watch the first episode of bakeoff without a scrumptious piece of something?

Cows.
Whilst blackberry picking I had a chat with these dudes, it reminded me of growing up here and spending my weekends chatting to the cows. Even after school I'd race in, change into my comfies and go out into the garden to sing to the cows! My sister was very into playing with dolls and toys, I preferred pottering in the garden and chatting to cows - each to their own ;).

Christopher Robin.
Possibly one of the most controversial things I've ever said, but I don't like going to the cinema. I have never once said to Fraser I'd really like to see so and so film, I'm a lover of snuggling up under blankets at home with all the tea and cat cuddles to watch a film, never one to be too worried about missing out on the big screen. However, yesterday I watched the trailer for Christopher Robin, thanks to my beautiful friend Lucy and fell in love. Fraser just happened to mention that the cinema had halved its prices recently and so I asked if they were showing my favourite little Bear on the big screen. I whooped with joy when he said yes and asked if I fancied seeing the 8:15pm screening...wait a second that's in like an hour I exclaimed. We don't have a plan! We might not get there in time! What about a plan?! Then I paused for a moment, realising that no plan was needed whatsoever and a trip to see Winnie The Pooh and his buddies with my favourite person would be absolutely wonderful. I cried many times and loved every second of it. Two of my favourite Winnie The Pooh quotes in the film are:

"I always get to where I'm going by walking away from where I've been." - Winnie The Pooh

"Doing nothing often leads to the very best of something." - Winnie The Pooh

Pooh is a wise old bear, he really is.

Visiting Fraser's Grandma.
On Friday morning we drove up to Birmingham to see Fraser's Grandma and it was so lovely to have a chat with her. We love a good road trip to so we had all of the tunes belting out - The Spice Girls, S Club 7 and even The Lion King as well as plenty of snacks. We stopped off at Gloucester Services - oh my goodness, why can't every service station be like that?! Full of delicious local products, beautiful handmade gifts and wonderfulness. We got some absolutely scrumptious sun dried tomato falafels, which quite frankly I'd make the trip back up there just for them!

Hometown Visits.
I've had a lovely time pottering around for the past few days whilst Fraser is at work. Little walks here and there and visiting my grandparents. It's lovely to be back in my hometown with a little time on my hands to properly take it all in. Fraser is off work for four days as of Thursday, so that's very exciting! We're going to the Owl Sanctuary, doing plenty more family visits and quite possibly a day trip up to Exeter on Saturday to have my camera cleaned.

Peppermint & Liquorice Tea.
Oh it's one of my absolute favourites and I'm most certainly going to be stocking up to take some back with me. I do love the warming comforting taste with the touch of sweetness the liquorice adds.

Tapas Night.
A few nights a go I cooked up a great big feast of tapas which everyone thoroughly enjoyed, cooking for lots of people is one of my all time favourite things to do. We had Spanish Omelette, Little PeppersSpanish Stuffed Onions, Cured Meats, Turmeric Courgette, Garlic Mushrooms and little crispy sweetcorn as well as a huge jug of sangria. I love the continual chitter chatter and noise when so many of us are crowded around the table. Plates are being passed over dishes and under another person's arms. Drinks are being poured and spilt a little, plenty of giggles and chomping and laughter. These are my kind of meal times.

A Lovely Walk.
I went for such a lovely walk with my lovely friend Laura and her beautiful fur baby Bear. Isn't he gorgeous! We chatted and had a lovely catch up as we walked through fields and woods, it was blissful.
